About Diamond Aircraft
Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH is an Austrian manufacturer of light aircraft for General Aviation, based in Wiener Neustadt. Founded in 1981, the company produces the complete airframe structure of its aircraft from glass- and carbon-fiber-reinforced composite materials, including in-house production of prepreg materials, tooling, welded metal components, wiring harnesses, instrument panels and systems. The model range extends from the two-seat DA20 to the seven-seat DA62, complemented by training platforms, the all-electric eDA40 and special-mission platforms DA42/DA62 MPP for aerial surveillance and remote sensing. The company's own piston engines (Jet Fuel) are developed and manufactured by its sister company Austro Engine in Wiener Neustadt. Production takes place in Wiener Neustadt (Austria), London/Ontario (Canada) and Xinchang (China); over 5,500 aircraft are in service worldwide with private pilots, flight schools and authorities.

Materials & Manufacturing Processes
Real-Time Prepreg Composite Material
In-house produced glass- and carbon-fiber-based prepreg materials for the complete airframe.
Glass and Carbon Fiber Composite
Robust, lightweight structural material with integrated safety cell structure (26 G crash / 10 G flight load).
Aluminum
Separate tanks between the dual spar system and fuel lines.
Stainless Steel Braided High-Pressure Lines
Break-proof TSO fuel lines instead of conventional aluminum tubes.
Piston Engines (AE300/AE330)
In-house, lead-free Jet-A1 piston engines with common-rail injection for DA40/DA42/DA62.

Quality & Safety
Diamond pursues a two-tier safety concept comprising active safety (modern avionics, Garmin G1000 NXi glass cockpit, de-icing, redundancy) and passive safety (composite safety cell, full-fuselage crash tests, energy-absorbing seats, fire-safe fuel systems). Airframes, seats and restraint systems are subjected to dynamic crash tests as a complete system.
