About DIAMOND SA
DIAMOND SA is a Swiss manufacturer of ultra-precise fiber optic components headquartered in Losone. The company designs, manufactures and assembles fiber optic connectors, ferrules and cable assemblies entirely in-house, including the patented two-component ceramic ferrule with titanium insert. Vertical integration covers ceramic CIP/CIM, metal machining, plastic injection molding, cleanroom manufacturing (ISO 5–7), high purity cleaning, and an accredited test and calibration laboratory. Using the patented Active Core Alignment (ACA) process, sub-micron core alignment accuracies are achieved with insertion losses down to 0.017 dB. Founded in 1958 in Locarno as a specialist in the precision machining of ultra-hard materials such as ruby, sapphire, tungsten carbide and diamond, DIAMOND entered the fiber optic industry in 1979. The components are used in photonics, aerospace, medical technology, quantum technology, high-power laser applications, defense and telecommunications.
