About Dicronite®
Dicronite® is a tungsten disulfide (WS2) dry-film lubricant coating service offered by Lubrication Sciences International, Inc. through a worldwide network of licensed application sites. After surface preparation, the coating is applied at ambient temperature by impingement application (Dry Lube Spray); it contains no binders or adhesives and requires no curing. With an average coating thickness of at most 0.5 micron, tolerances remain unaffected; the coating can be applied to all metals, most plastics and some ceramics as well as over existing coatings, and can be renewed any number of times. Fields of application include aerospace, defense, automotive, medical and pharmaceutical technology, plastics mold making and semiconductor equipment, including under extreme temperatures (-188 °C to 538 °C in air, up to 1316 °C in vacuum), in vacuum environments (ASTM E595) and with tight tolerances. The process was developed as part of the NASA space program and has been in use for over 60 years.

Materials & Processes
Tungsten disulfide (Tungsten Disulfide)
Lamellar-structured solid lubricant for low-friction sliding surfaces with coating thicknesses up to 0.5 µm.
Dicronite® / DL® coating
Original WS2 dry-film lubricant process without binders, without curing, reapplicable.
DL-5® coating
Further registered variant of the Dicronite® coating system.
All metals (substrates)
Approved as substrate materials for the coating.
Most plastics (substrates)
Coatable substrates thanks to the ambient-temperature process without thermal stress.
Some ceramics (substrates)
Ceramic substrates coatable with limitations.
