About the village brewery
Die braut – Dorfbrauerei Stegelitz GmbH is a craft rural brewery in Stegelitz in the Uckermark (Brandenburg). It is run by Sarah, a trained organic farmer and experienced event organizer, and Joe, a trained forester who until 2020 ran the Eberswalde pub 'Zur Haltestelle'. The brewery produces classic beers and seasonal specialty beers, including a bottom-fermented North German Pilsner, a Märkisches Kölsch, a cold-hopped Old German Helles and an Oatmeal Stout – made from water, barley malt, hops and yeast, partly with rolled oats. The beers are sold unfiltered and in various strengths. Sales take place directly at the brewery in the taproom with a small brewery garden as well as bottled beer; the brewery also supplies kegs for events, rents out tap systems, cooling equipment and glasses, and offers beer stand and bar service, brewery tours and tastings. Customers include restaurants, pubs, regional shops and events in the region, especially in Eberswalde, Angermünde and the surrounding area.
