Who we are

Die Freien Brauer are an association of 46 medium-sized, group-independent family breweries from Germany, Austria and Luxembourg that have been family-owned for generations. The association sees itself as a community of shared values, comprising like-minded breweries that are leaders in their home regions, with the goal of preserving the art of brewing and a way of life. The head office in Dortmund coordinates the association's activities and offers its shareholders central purchasing, network and partner cooperations, as well as press and public relations work. Beyond pure business cooperation, the association bundles shared values, including a commitment to free entrepreneurship, quality and responsibility towards partners and the respective region.
