About us
Die Optiklounge GmbH operates a specialist optician and optometry practice in Leer (East Frisia) under the name Der Augenoptiker Benjamin Walther®. The company was founded in 1998 by Benjamin Walther, Dipl.-Ing. Optometry, and is today continued by Die Optiklounge GmbH, with André Ennen as master optician and operations manager. Core services include the Dynamic MKH according to Walther®, a proprietary measurement method for the differentiated assessment of binocular vision, highly precise ophthalmic lens determination, and the individual fitting of specialty contact lenses for keratoconus, irregular astigmatism, anisometropia or post-surgical cases. Further focal points are prism glasses for binocular vision misalignment, progressive lens consultation and myopia management for children and adolescents. The in-house workshop manufactures glasses with millimeter precision, including fitting and repairs. In addition, the company offers preventive screening (intraocular pressure, cornea, tear film, fundus) with the ZEISS VISUREF 1000, whose findings are evaluated teleophthalmologically by ophthalmologists via Ocumeda. Customers come from East Frisia, all of Germany, and from neighboring countries abroad.
