The Beach Chair Manufactory in Buxtehude
Die Strandkorbprofis GmbH is a beach chair manufactory in Buxtehude on the southern outskirts of Hamburg and is one of the largest German manufacturers of roofed wicker beach chairs and protective covers. In its own production facility on the 6,000 m² site in the Ovelgönne industrial estate, basket weavers, joiners and seamstresses craft every beach chair by hand as a one-off piece – from weaving the upper basket in a single piece to woodworking with certified solid teak and mahogany and upholstery in the company's own upholstery workshop, established in 2005. Materials used include UV-resistant solid PE wicker, Teflon-coated Dralon fabrics made of polyacrylic, PUR foam cushions and V2A stainless steel fittings. In addition to standard models, the family-owned company produces individual corporate design beach chairs for businesses, garden furniture, re-upholstery and custom-made protective covers. Customers include private individuals, industrial companies such as VW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Hapag-Lloyd and Coca-Cola, as well as celebrities. Delivery is carried out fully assembled with the company's own truck fleet; around 1,500 beach chairs are permanently in stock.
