Mechanical engineering, tank construction and plant engineering since 1949
Diem-Werke GmbH is a steel and mechanical engineering company founded in 1949 and based in Hörbranz, Vorarlberg, in the tri-border region of Austria–Germany–Switzerland. The company manufactures construction machinery and construction equipment such as forced-action mixers, tilting drum mixers, crane forks and crane buckets, custom tanks and pressure storage vessels up to 4.2 m in diameter and 20 t in weight, as well as systems and special machinery — from planning and design through to commissioning and on-site installation. In contract manufacturing, individual parts, assemblies and series are produced, with laser cutting up to 4 x 2 m, plasma cutting up to 12 x 3 m, roll bending, folding and welding processes from MAG to laser. Materials include steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass and galvanized sheet metal. Around 50 employees produce on 7,000 m² of production space; reference customers come from structural and civil engineering, the refractory and food industries, energy and storage technology, and waste management and recycling.

Materials and manufacturing processes
Laser cutting
Bystronic laser cuts sheet formats up to 4 x 2 m: steel up to 20 mm, stainless steel up to 20 mm, aluminium up to 10 mm, brass up to 3 mm, galvanized sheet up to 4 mm.
Plasma cutting
Microstep plasma system processes formats up to 12 x 3 m, steel up to 35 mm thickness.
Steel (carbon steel)
Base material for contract manufacturing, construction machinery and tank construction, also galvanized.
Stainless steel
Used in tank and storage vessel construction as well as for corrosion-resistant system components.
Aluminium
Laser cut up to 10 mm and welded, also part of the contract manufacturing range.
Brass
Laser cut up to 3 mm as a contract manufacturing material.
GRP (glass-fiber reinforced plastic)
Processed in customer fixtures, e.g. winding mandrels for GRP pipe production.
