About DIMET
DIMET GmbH, headquartered in Garching near Munich, is a manufacturer of lifting electromagnets and custom lifting and material handling solutions for the steel and scrap processing industry. Evolving from an engineering office founded in 2000, the company has grown into a high-tech operation with more than 200 employees and its own production space exceeding 10,000 m². The portfolio includes lifting electromagnets, electropermanent magnets, scrap magnets (EMG-SM/EMG-HC), electromagnetic spreader beams, pole grabbers (tong grab), orange peel grapples and iron separators, as well as magnet controls, power supplies and UPS systems for electromagnets. The solutions are used for ferromagnetic materials such as steel, including scrap, slabs, billets, coils, pipes and rebar, in some cases at load temperatures up to 650 °C. Customers come from the steel industry, scrap recycling, metal and mining, port and transshipment logistics, and engineering and plant construction; the EMG-SM magnets are compatible with material handlers from Sennebogen, Terex Fuchs, Atlas and Suny. With a worldwide sales network, warehouses in Garching and Baltimore, and more than 3000 customers, DIMET serves applications around the globe.
