Dipl.-Ing. Jürgen Walsen is a freelance engineer and expert witness based in Dorsten in the Ruhr area. After studying mechanical engineering (power and working machinery) at the Technical University of Hannover, he worked in industry for 25 years, including around 18 years in management positions as department head, plant manager and technical managing director – among others in the steel industry, in machinery manufacturing for turbo and rotary compressors, and in drive technology. Since 1993 he has offered technical consulting for power and working machinery such as gearboxes, pumps, compressors and combustion engines. Since 1998 he has also been an expert witness (BVFS) for compressors, machine dynamics and machine damage, and since 2012 a member of the Verband Deutscher Gerichtssachverständiger e. V. (VDGS). Further focal points are vibration engineering and the handling of technical issues for companies in mechanical engineering, the steel industry and drive technology. Consulting is available in German, English and French.
