DISKUS WERKE Schleiftechnik GmbH, based in Dietzenbach, has been specialising since 1911 in the field of face grinding and double-disc face grinding, which has become established under the term DISKUS grinding. The company manufactures double-disc face grinding machines (DDW) with horizontally arranged spindles in a box-frame welded steel construction, directly driven liquid-cooled motor spindles with 24 to 100 kW power, the proprietary IONIC measuring control system for 100% post-process measurement, and the SIEMENS 840D sl control. Over 2,000 machines are in field operation and, even after decades, achieve high precision despite high stock removal rates. The range of applications extends from the automotive industry and its suppliers to the rolling bearing and watch industries through to the glass and ceramics industries; metals, glass and ceramics are machined. As part of the DVS TECHNOLOGY GROUP, DISKUS WERKE focuses on the service and tool business: maintenance, repair and retrofit, remote diagnostics and remote servicing, spare parts supply in original quality, training in double-disc grinding as well as process optimisation and production support.
