About the Brewery
Dithmarscher Brauerei Karl Hintz GmbH & Co. KG is an independent private brewery, free of any corporate group, located in Marne (Holstein) on the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein. It is best known for Dithmarscher Pilsener, which is sold mainly in reusable swing-top bottles. In addition to Pils, the Marne site also brews and bottles Dunkel, Alkoholfrei (non-alcoholic), Radler, Radler Alkoholfrei, Maibock, Naturtrüb, Urbock and Urtyp; in addition, Longneck and Steinie bottles as well as cans are filled. Since the end of 2024, filling and storage have taken place in a new filling and logistics centre. The brewery is a member of the Freie Brauern association and is family-owned in the fifth generation. The brewery's beers have been awarded gold several times by the DLG, most recently the Dithmarscher Pilsener in 2013.
