About DMT Drehmaschinen
DMT Drehmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG, based in Lörrach in the tri-border area of Germany/France/Switzerland, was founded in 1993 by five former employees of the company Kern, whose roots date back to 1842. Until March 2025, the company manufactured CNC, cycle and conventional lathes with centre distances from 0.5 m to 6,000 mm, which were delivered more than 2,000 times. Since discontinuing new machine production, DMT has focused entirely on the service and maintenance of machines in operation: preventive maintenance (VorWart), repairs, retrofit projects for mechanics and electrics, spare parts service including for older model years, machine relocations, commissioning and programming training. The subsidiary ST, s.r.o. in Sladkovicovo (Slovakia) has been machining castings ready for installation since 2002. The machines are used in single-part and small-batch production as well as in educational institutions.
