About DOCtron
DOCtron manufactures the IMC in Middle Franconia, a fully analogue audio processor in a compact, portable format. The device combines a British-inspired low and high shelf EQ section with bypass, a VCA bus compressor with FF/FB detector path, and a Lundahl output transformer with drive and gain reduction controls. The complete signal chain is analogue; operation was digitised during development. The rugged carbon enclosure is also manufactured in-house at DOCtron. The IMC is designed as a replacement for a classic mastering chain and was developed jointly with the musician Martin Stimming, who tested the prototypes in live use worldwide. Production is handmade in small quantities for pro-audio, live and DJ applications.
