Tradition since 1911
Döbrich & Heckel Steatitwerke GmbH & Co. KG is a manufacturer of technical ceramics with a tradition dating back to 1911. The company develops and manufactures custom ceramic components without pre-produced mass-market goods: every component is adapted to the respective requirements in close collaboration with the customer. Manufacturing encompasses pressing, extrusion, injection molding, laser processing, and finishing processes such as glazing, grinding, soldering, riveting, upsetting, and silver plating. The materials used are primarily steatite, cordierite, aluminum oxide, magnesium oxide, and zirconium oxide in accordance with DIN EN 60672-3; in addition, silicate, oxide, and non-oxide ceramics. The components combine mechanical strength, temperature resistance, wear and corrosion resistance, and electrical insulation capability. Customers are found in high-temperature technology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and medical technology. The company supplies customers in over 40 countries and is based in Altdorf bei Nürnberg in the Nuremberg metropolitan region, where development, production, and sales are bundled.
