About us
DÖKA Feuerlöschgerätebau GmbH develops and produces portable and wheeled fire extinguishers for almost all applications at its Kassel site. The production programme comprises more than 70 different extinguisher types in over 400 versions with the extinguishing agents powder (ABC, BC, D), foam, water and carbon dioxide – from simple stored-pressure extinguishers and rechargeable extinguishers through to special extinguishing units and wheeled extinguishers. Among the best-known developments are the central strike-button valve and the foam cartridge system, which DÖKA was the first manufacturer to also use in wheeled extinguishers. The cylinders are made of steel or aluminium, valves of nickel-plated brass or plastic (composite); since 2020 the company has been gradually converting its foam extinguishing agent programme to fluorine-free formulations, including solutions for lithium-ion batteries (BerkiCold). All products are tested to DIN EN 3 or DIN EN 1866, many with MED approval for maritime shipping. As an independent family business in its third generation, DÖKA manufactures 100 % at its own site in the Kassel-Waldau industrial park and supplies customers in Europe and worldwide. In addition, the company offers a carbon dioxide service (cylinder filling 0,15–50 kg) as well as GRIF-certified specialist seminars.

ABC extinguishing powder (glowing-fire powder)
Versatile extinguishing agent with a barrier-layer effect against re-ignition in solid-material fires.
BC extinguishing powder
Used for fires involving liquid substances, also in wheeled extinguishers.
D extinguishing powder (metal fire)
Special powder for metal fires in wheeled metal-fire extinguishers.
Fluorine-free foam (ABF, BerkiCold)

Quality and approvals
Quality inspections are multi-stage and range from supplier acceptance and incoming goods inspection to ongoing production checks and final assembly inspection. A quality management system to ISO 9001:2015 is externally monitored by TÜV SÜD Management Service GmbH; numerous units carry additional approvals (MED/maritime shipping, mining and open-cast mining).
