About us
Dorfbrennerei Boelinger in Maring-Noviand on the Mosel is a family business with a long tradition of distilling fruit brandies. As early as vor 1900, great-grandfather Nikolaus Winter distilled the traditional Mosel wine pomace and Mosel wine yeasts for the vintners of the region; in 1913 Josef Bölinger took over the distillery, in 1956 Gerhard Bölinger, and since 1979 Elmar Bölinger has been running the business in the fourth generation. The distillery operates as a fruit-quantity distillery using the contract distilling method for farmers and vintners, and in addition produces pomace brandies, fine fruit brandies and specialties. The basis for the selected brandies are 5,5 ha of the company's own vineyards and orchard meadows; a large proportion of the raw materials comes from these ecologically significant areas. Since 1998 the business has had a distillation system from Arnold Holstein with rinsing device, agitator and catalyst. In addition to the distillery, viticulture and fruit growing are part of the business portfolio.

Quality
In the company's view, quality begins at the tree: only fully developed, healthy and well-ripened fruit is processed; diseased fruit is sorted out. Clean, conscientious processing of the company's own fruit is a prerequisite for the quality of the brandy.
