About the Dortmunder Hansa-Brauerei
The Dortmunder Hansa-Brauerei GmbH, based at Steigerstraße 20 in Dortmund, is a company of the Radeberger Group and manufacturer of the HANSA beer brand. The range comprises bottom-fermented full beers, in particular HANSA Pils (original wort 11.2%, alcohol 4.8% by volume) and HANSA Export (original wort 11.9%, alcohol 5.2% by volume). The beers are brewed from water, barley malt, hops and hop extract and are labelled as vegan. HANSA Pils has been brewed since 1 February 1902; its history goes back via the Bairisch Bierbrauerei (1875) and the Dortmunder Borussia Brauerei (1885). In 1971 the Dortmunder Actien-Brauerei (DAB) acquired the majority of shares; the brand is today brewed by the DAB in Dortmund. Since 2006, the Dortmund Brewery Museum has been located on the site of the former brewery.
