About Dr. Johanna Budwig

Dr. Johanna Budwig GmbH, based in Bad Zwischenahn, produces native, cold-pressed oils and flaxseed products. The centerpiece of the range is organic flaxseed oil, obtained in the company's own oil mill using the original Budwig pressing process – a particularly gentle cold pressing carried out with exclusion of light and oxygen. Since 2021, the flaxseeds come 100 % from the company's own controlled organic cultivation on over 500 ha of arable land in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Brandenburg and neighboring countries. In addition to flaxseed oil, the product range includes Omega-3 algae oils, DHA+EPA oils, black cumin, hemp, MCT, olive and pumpkin seed oils, energy mixes, porridge and Zellvital products. All products are regularly analyzed in the company's own laboratory, including for heavy metal contamination, free fatty acids and peroxides. The products are sold via the company's own online shop and through health food store distribution; the organic products carry the DE-ÖKO-039 certification.

Quality & Certification

All products are regularly sampled and analyzed in the laboratory starting from the raw material, including for condition, taste, heavy metal contamination, free fatty acids and peroxides. The organic products are certified in accordance with DE-ÖKO-039 (GfRS).
