About Mergenthaler Laser

Dr. Mergenthaler GmbH & Co. KG develops and manufactures components and systems for laser material processing. The family-owned company was founded in 1991 and has its headquarters with development and production in Neu-Ulm in Bavaria. Products include diode laser modules, laser heads, high-speed pyrometers, and the pyrometer-controlled laser process control system LASCON®, which is installed in more than 3,800 laser systems worldwide. Main applications are laser soldering, laser plastic welding, laser hardening, laser cladding, vacuum heating, and Laser Assisted Bonding. In its own application laboratory with 200-W diode lasers, desktop robots, galvo scanners, and pyrometers, manufacturing processes are developed, and pilot series and contract manufacturing are carried out. In addition, the company offers installation, training, as well as calibration and maintenance of systems and pyrometers. Customers come from the semiconductor industry, electronics manufacturing, automotive, medical technology, photovoltaics, and research; references include Daimler, Robert Bosch, Osram, CERN, and ETH Zurich. A sales office in Shenzhen serves the Chinese market.
