About Dr Pley Environmental
Founded in 2010, Dr Pley Environmental GmbH based in Bamberg develops and markets catalysts for biomass firing systems. Under the ChimCat® brand, integrated catalyst solutions for new wood-burning stoves as well as retrofit kits (ChimCat® RETRO) for existing firing systems are sold via specialist retailers and DIY stores. According to the manufacturer, the catalysts significantly reduce pollutants and particulate matter in the exhaust gas while simultaneously increasing the efficiency of the firing installations; the catalyst cassettes are generally effective for two years and can be replaced with just a few simple steps. The product range also includes wood gas combined heat and power units (CHP) as well as environmental measurement services using mobile measurement technology for real-time determination of pollutant emissions from biomass firing systems in various operating states. The technology has been developed and patented since 2010; in 2011 the products were the first catalysts on the market to receive approval from the German Institute of Building Technology (DIBt). Customers include wood-burning stove manufacturers, DIY store chains, chimney sweeps, energy supply companies, municipal utilities and housing cooperatives.
