Dr. Tillwich GmbH Werner Stehr is an owner-managed family business based in Horb-Ahldorf (Baden-Württemberg) and has been developing solutions for friction, wear and lubrication (tribology) for over 75 years. Its range of services extends from tribological consulting, friction and wear measurements in its own testing laboratory, lubricant analyses and failure analyses to lubricant development and the development of epilamization agents. To support the production process, the company performs lubrication and epilamization of customer parts as contract work in-house, and designs and builds custom test equipment for tribological materials testing and fundamental research, which is used in industry and academia. The products include clock and instrument oils, greases, solid lubricants, dip lubricants, cleaning and carrier fluids as well as epilamization agents (Antispread, Wet-Stop). Materials treated include steel, brass, jewel bearings (ruby/sapphire) as well as plastics and elastomers such as PE, PP, POM, PBT, PA66, PC, PPO, PMMA, ASA, ABS, EPDM and EPR. Customers come from the watchmaking and precision mechanics, automotive, electrical engineering, aerospace, mechanical engineering, optics, robotics, metrology and control technology, and medical technology sectors; international customers are supplied from the location in Germany.

Steel
Bearing material for clock and instrument oils as well as epilamization of sliding points.
Brass
Material for bearing pairings in clocks and instruments, e.g. brass/steel bearings.
Jewel bearings (ruby/sapphire)
Bearing material in clocks, for lifetime lubrication with synthetic oils.
