About Drahtwerk Waidhaus
Drahtwerk Waidhaus GmbH is a wire drawing and stranding plant based in Waidhaus in the Upper Palatinate, near the Czech border. Founded in 1960, the company manufactures customized products from copper and copper alloys such as nickel tin and nickel silver in bare, tinned, silver-plated or nickel-plated versions. The product range extends from robust, flexible fan ropes for high electrical voltages to extremely fine wires for medical applications; manufactured products include copper round wires according to DIN 46431 and strands according to DIN VDE 0295 as well as the product HISA-DW24. Core competencies are surface coating by electroplating (silver plating, nickel plating, tin plating) as well as stranding into strands and ropes with variable lay lengths. With 75 employees and 145 machines, the company supplies industries such as the automotive industry, aerospace, medical technology, offshore, military, robotics and high-frequency technology. Since 2023, the plant has belonged to the Foundry Alliance Group.
