Dreherei und Maschinenbau Scheller GmbH & Co. KG is a certified welding specialist based in Vacha (Thuringia). The company produces turned and milled parts on CNC lathes and 3-, 4- and 5-axis machining centers, offers cutting on sawing machines, broaching and groove rolling, and manufactures welded assemblies including fixture construction from steel, aluminium and stainless steel up to a unit weight of 7 tonnes. Processes include TIG welding, MIG/MAG welding and brazing in single-part and series production; robotic welding is performed on a system with a dual-station positioner. In addition, Scheller carries out assembly manufacturing including material procurement and organizes surface treatments such as laser cutting, edge bending, hardening, grinding and sandblasting in cooperation with partners. The company has many years of experience in prototype construction and supplies automotive manufacturers, their suppliers, foundries and companies from the heating technology sector. Production on 1500 sqm of manufacturing floor space and 400 sqm of warehouse space is supported by 3D coordinate measurement and inspection documentation.

Quality and Inspection
Measurement is performed on a Mitutoyo 3D coordinate measuring machine in a climate-controlled measuring room (700 × 700 × 600 mm) as well as on a Tesa video measuring device (20–130x magnification). First article inspection reports, machine capability studies (cpk) and further inspection documents including surface roughness testing are produced.
