About the Dresdner Kaffee und Kakao Rösterei
The Dresdner Kaffee und Kakao Rösterei has been roasting coffee and espresso in a drum roasting oven since 1999. Starting from a 5-kg drum roaster, the machine fleet grew via a 12-kg PROBAT to a Giesen W45A. The range includes proprietary blends as well as pure single-origin coffees made from Arabica and Robusta beans in various roast levels, available as whole beans or ground. In addition to selling to private customers, gastronomy and offices, the roastery offers contract roasting, private label production, coffee catering, mobile coffee bars, and coffee machines including service. The program is complemented by barista courses, roastery tours, coffee tastings and an event location. The products are organic certified; at the blind tasting of the Deutsche Röstergilde 2026, all submitted coffees and espressi received gold medals. The location is in Dresden, not far from Melitta-Bentz-Straße, named after the inventor of the coffee filter bag.
