About Pfunds Molkerei
The Dresdner Molkerei Gebrüder Pfund operates a historic dairy shop in Dresden's Neustadt district, opened in 1892 and now regarded as a tourist attraction. Production no longer takes place on site: after the expropriation and shutdown of the business during the GDR era, the production facilities were demolished. Today the shop sells cheese and dairy products from regional producers as well as wines, delicacies, cosmetics, porcelain and souvenirs. The offering includes a cheese counter, a small snack bar with bistro, individually composed cheese platters and gourmet gifts, and an online shop with shipping. Since 24.09.2019, the business has held the title of "Germany's best cheese counter". The shop at Bautzner Straße 79 is famous for nearly 248 m² of hand-painted Villeroy & Boch tiles and was recognized by the Guinness Book of Records.
