About DTS Prototyping

DTS Prototyping is a company founded in 1996 and based in Bisingen (Baden-Württemberg), specialising in the manufacture of master models, prototypes and small series in plastic. The production portfolio includes stereolithography (STL) for the manufacture of dimensionally accurate master models with a vertical process accuracy of ±0.05 mm, vacuum casting in silicone moulds with casting materials from 25 to 90 Shore A, low-pressure injection moulding (RIM) of large and thick-walled components up to approx. 300 units, and 3D printing using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) and Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM). Materials used include photosensitive epoxy resin, thermosetting PU, PA, PA GF, elastomers, metal powder, ABS and PC/ABS. In addition to individual parts, the company also produces bonded parts, parts with metal inserts, transparent parts, surface-finished components, design and trade fair models, and complex assemblies. Customers come from the automotive industry, medical technology, consumer goods industry and aerospace engineering. Since 2013, DTS Prototyping has been producing on approx. 550 m² in the Bisingen Nord industrial estate.

Materials and Processes

STL

Stereolithography

3D layer-by-layer process with UV-cured epoxy resin for warp-free, dimensionally accurate master models from 0.4 mm wall thickness.

VG

Vacuum Casting

Bubble-free thermoset castings from silicone tools, tinted, glass-fibre filled, flexible, glass-clear or rubber-like from 25 to 90 Shore A.

RIM

Reaction Injection Moulding

Low-pressure injection moulding of thermosetting PU at 4–6 bar for large and thick-walled components up to approx. 300 units.

SLS

Selective Laser Sintering

Laser sintering of powder materials such as PA, PA GF, elastomer or metal for functional components.

FDM

Fused Deposition Modeling

Layer-by-layer build-up from ABS or PC/ABS with layer thicknesses of 0.25 mm and minimum wall thickness 0.9 mm.

PU

Polyurethane (thermosetting)

Material for RIM castings that imitates the later series production material.

PA

Polyamide

SLS material for stable, functional prototype parts.

PA GF

Polyamide Glass Fibre

Glass-fibre reinforced SLS material for components subject to higher loads.

ABS

ABS

FDM material for prototypes and functional models.

PC/ABS

PC/ABS

Impact-resistant FDM material for demanding functional models.

Ep

Epoxy Resin (photosensitive)

Liquid resin for stereolithography, suitable for the automotive industry, medical technology, consumer goods and aerospace engineering.
