Embedded Electronics for Safety-Critical Applications
duagon AG develops and manufactures embedded electronics, computing hardware, and software solutions for safety-critical applications in railway and medical technology. The portfolio includes subsystems and complete systems for network communication, computer control, and subsystem control – including CompactPCI boards and systems, processor modules, secure computing systems, box PCs, I/O controllers, interfaces, and gateways. Additionally, the company offers engineering services with around 150 specialized engineers: software engineering up to SIL 4, planning, development, testing, and commissioning of train control and signaling systems (ATO, ATP, CBTC, ERTMS, etc.), RAMS management according to EN 50126 and EN 50716, and test automation. Furthermore, custom hardware solutions – even in small quantities – as well as product-related services such as hardware repair, refurbishment, obsolescence management, escrow service, and cybersecurity (SBOM, Vulnerability Monitoring, CRA-Compliance) are offered. In-house manufacturing of embedded hardware ensures flexibility and short lead times. The headquarters are in Dietikon (Switzerland), and the largest production site is in Nürnberg; since January 2026, duagon has belonged to the Knorr-Bremse Group (Smart Electronics Business Unit). Key customers include SBB, BLS, Siemens Mobility, Hitachi Rail, and Hamilton Medical.
