About Frankenheim
The Düsseldorf private brewery Frankenheim was founded in 1873 by Heinrich Frankenheim and remains known to this day as a traditional Altbier brand from Düsseldorf. The beer is brewed according to the German purity law with carefully selected ingredients: two-row summer barley, hand-graded Hallertau hops, a specially selected top-fermenting yeast and particularly purified brewing water. The dark red-brown colour of Frankenheim Alt comes from special malts of the Munich type as well as a roasted malt from the classic roasting drum. In 2005, the Frankenheim family sold the majority of its shares to the Warsteiner brewery Haus Cramer KG; since the closure of the brewery in Neuss-Holzheim in 2009, Frankenheim has been operated only as a beer brand, with production taking place in Warstein. The headquarters on Wielandstraße in Düsseldorf houses the administration and a brewery tap room.
