About Duramea
Duramea is a spin-off of the Institute of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Technology at Graz University of Technology, based in Austria. The company develops and manufactures membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) in 2-, 3- and 5-layer configurations, available as CCS and CCM, for PEM and AEM fuel cells as well as electrolysers. The manufacturing process includes coating methods such as slot-die, spray, Mayer-rod and electrospinning; a unique selling point is the patent-pending polyaniline (PANI) coating technology, which increases the corrosion resistance and service life of the MEAs. With its own test benches and analysis equipment up to SEM measurements, Duramea ensures the characterisation and consistent quality of its products. The MEAs target applications in the hydrogen economy, including fertilisers, steel production, transport and space (ESA BIC Austria).
