About E-mobile Motors
E-mobile Motors GmbH, based in Rosenthal in Hesse, is active in the development, production and distribution of electrically driven vehicles. The company developed the three-wheeled vehicle TW4XP, which combines electric drive with a pedal mechanism (muscle power) and took part in the Progressive Automotive X Prize competition in the USA. As part of the publicly funded project 'Development of a load-bearing and chassis structure in lightweight design for an electric vehicle' (Hessen ModellProjekte, HA project no. 176/09-06, duration 01.06.2009–30.11.2009), the company, as consortium leader, together with the University of Kassel, designed and implemented a lightweight, mass-production-suitable vehicle frame structure for electric drives. The aim of the project was to develop cost-effective, lightweight-optimized body construction techniques for operation with electric drives and their energy storage systems such as battery or fuel cell systems. A second project phase provided for the development of a safety-optimized, production-ready passenger cell using new techniques.
