About eph schmidt / Vitavia
E.P.H. Schmidt & Co. GmbH is a family business founded in 1922 and based in Dortmund, which manufactures greenhouses, cold frames, raised beds, metal sheds, workshop and storage rooms as well as garden accessories under the Vitavia and Pergart brands. Since 2007 the company has been a greenhouse manufacturer; before that, for decades it was a wholesaler and importer of garden articles. The products are made in the company's own ISO-certified production: aluminium frames are anodised or powder-coated, steel components are hot-dip galvanised and painted in a multi-stage oven-baking process, and polycarbonate hollow-chamber panels are purchased from a German specialist company. The tubes and profiles are processed into structures with a footprint between 0.3 and 15.7 m², which are supplied as kits to DIY stores, garden retailers, purchasing groups and online shops. The approximately 22.000 m² site in Dortmund houses administration, warehousing, production as well as a model house exhibition.
