About E-Werke Haniel
E-Werke Haniel Haimhausen GmbH & Co. KG is a medium-sized, independent energy supply company with ten employees in Haimhausen, around 20 km north of Munich. Since 1893, the family-owned company has been generating electricity from hydropower on the Amper, making it one of Bavaria's oldest electricity suppliers. Generation takes place via three own hydropower plants (EW1, EW2, EW3) as well as a hydropower screw, two photovoltaic systems and shareholdings in wind farms in Bavaria and the Saarland; its own generation amounts to approximately 6,500,000 kWh per year. Over 3,000 households and businesses in Haimhausen, Unterschleißheim and other municipalities in Bavaria are supplied, supplemented by certified purchased green electricity from hydropower from Europe. In addition to electricity supply, the company operates the electricity grid and metering point services and offers construction site electricity as well as e-mobility services.
