Ebauches Micromécanique Precitrame SA (EMP SA) is a manufacturer of components for the watch industry and microtechnology based in Tramelan in the Bernese Jura. The company produces watch blanks (ébauches horlogères) in lot sizes from 1 piece up to 1 million pieces as well as barquettes (movement carriers), supply parts and various microtechnology components. The value chain includes stamping and cutting processes, machining, surface finishing (Terminaison), decorating, heat treatment and assembly; in addition, micromechanics and toolmakers develop the tools required for production in-house. Building on its long tradition as a blank manufacturer, Precitrame develops its own CNC transfer machines for series production; wire EDM machines are used for prototypes and complex parts. EMP SA supplies watch brands and customers from the microtechnology and medical technology sectors.

Founding of Précis-Trame SA following the closure of the regional blank factories (including Unitas SA); to meet the growing demand for watch blanks for mechanical watches, Precitrame develops its own CNC transfer machines.
