Ebbing-Lohaus Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH is a family-owned company based in Heiden in the Münsterland region, specializing in the breeding and production of seed and young plants of the garden primrose (Primula acaulis and Primula polyantha). From a potted plant nursery founded in 1953, a modern horticultural business has developed over the decades, with 30,000 m² of high-glass area in modern Venlo greenhouses with mobile tables. The company's own breeding programs include F1 hybrid series flowering from early to late, including bonneli, primella, fruelo, el unistar, stella, delia, elena, sibel and the traditional successful variety eblo. The seed is produced exclusively at the Heiden location and sold worldwide to seed wholesalers and young plant businesses. Young plants (plug seedlings) are produced in a dedicated tray with 336 cells (Ø 1.7 cm) and marketed primarily in Germany as well as increasingly in other European countries. In addition, the company cultivates Cyclamen persicum as finished product, which is marketed through the FloraHolland auctions. Cultivation instructions and consultancy are available to support customers.

Our history
- 1953
Founded by Adolf Ebbing-Lohaus with 180 m² of high glass and 200 m² of cold frame windows; cultivation of vegetables, young and bedding plants, sales at weekly markets.
- 1970er
Switch to garden primrose (Primula acaulis) for energy cost reasons; start of the own primrose breeding program, emergence of the variety eblo.

Modernization with climate computers, conversion to rolling benches and IT-supported administration; presentation of the first F1 hybrids.
