About Eckel & Sohn

Eckel & Sohn Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG, based in Gau-Odernheim, is a family-owned SME and manufacturer of assembly and sorting systems for multi-part closures. Since 1956, the company has been developing and manufacturing customised machine solutions for globally active closure suppliers as well as beverage and food manufacturers – covering virtually all closure types, from classic flange component variants to sophisticated sports caps. Fully automatic, continuously adjustable rotary assembly systems with a central round tower join, flange, rivet and cut closure parts, weld them by ultrasonic or induction, screw them together and test them for leak-tightness using high voltage. One of the largest systems, with 60 work heads, achieved up to 120,000 closures per hour. With the conversion to tethered caps in accordance with EU Directive 2019/904, the company standardised its systems platform in 2024 together with Siemens (TIA Portal), reduced footprints to approximately 6 x 8 m, and advanced the integration of servo drive technology, sensor technology and QS systems into the main process.
