Glass processing for architecture and facade construction
Eckelt Glas GmbH, headquartered in Steyr, is an Austrian flat glass processing company that has evolved from an insulating glass manufacturer into a producer for architectural projects with special technical requirements. The company manufactures safety and insulating glass in XL dimensions up to 8 × 3.21 m – including tempered safety glass (ESG), laminated safety glass (VSG), enamelled glass, and double and triple insulating glass, also as SSG structural sealant glazing. Its range of in-house capabilities includes glass cutting, edge grinding, drilling, screen printing, enamelling, tempering, heat-soak testing and laminating, through to factory installation of fittings. Eckelt is a partner to international facade builders and metal fabricators; references include, among others, 432 Park Avenue and One Vanderbilt in New York, BMW Welt in Munich, the Acropolis Museum in Athens, the walkable glass floor on the Eiffel Tower and the DC Tower in Vienna. Export markets are primarily America, Great Britain, Germany and East Asia – projects have been realised in more than 50 countries. Since 2025, the company founded in 1923 has belonged to investor Accursia Capital.

Glasses and processing steps
Base glass / flat glass
Independent glass processing specialist with a broad product range of base glass for every application.
Extra-clear float glass
For maximum transparency, e.g. at the Acropolis Museum in Athens in partially self-supporting construction.
Tempered safety glass (ESG)
Thermally tempered safety glass, produced on a horizontal tempering line.
Laminated safety glass (VSG)
Laminated safety glass for injury protection, break-in protection and further requirements.
Insulating glass (double / triple)
Manufactured since the 1956 patent; based on the principle of the first patent, insulating glass is today produced worldwide.
Enamelled glass
Full-surface printing using an enamelled glass pouring line for functionality and design.
