Econocom Remarketing GmbH (formerly bb-net media GmbH) has specialised in the refurbishment of used business IT since 1997. The company purchases used hardware in lots of 50 or more devices – laptops, PC systems, monitors, smartphones, tablets and servers – collects them nationwide via secure transport and processes them at its own technology center in Schweinfurt. The process includes inventory, IT audit, GDPR- and BSI-compliant data erasure using Blancco technology and the in-house software SAM, cosmetic and technical refurbishment, installation and retail packaging. Devices that cannot be refurbished are dismantled and disposed of as a certified waste management specialist company; data carriers are destroyed in accordance with DIN 66399-2 (E4/T5/H5). The premium refurbished IT of the ecotech brand (formerly tecXL) comes 95% from the business lines of Lenovo, Dell, HP and Fujitsu with aluminium or magnesium housings and is sold with a warranty of at least 24 months. More than 120,000 devices are refurbished each year; customers include specialist retailers, system houses, leasing companies, businesses and public institutions.
