Ecotec Naturfarben GmbH was founded in 1989 in Lüdenscheid and, with its brand Volvox, specializes in ecological paint and coating systems. The company develops and produces clay paints, fine clay plasters, clay plasters, silicate interior and facade paints, dispersion paints as well as lacquers, glazes, oils, waxes and primers for wood treatment. The products are predominantly water-based and solvent-free; clay paints and dispersion paints carry the EU Ecolabel and, thanks to their vapour-permeable properties, regulate humidity in the indoor climate. Production takes place 100 % in Germany at the Lüdenscheid site. The products are distributed via specialized retailers, building material dealers and resellers as well as via online shops; customers include craftspeople, hotels and gastronomy, commercial and office spaces, and private living spaces. Reference projects such as the renovation of Irmelshausen Castle document use in the commercial/contract sector.
