About edm aerotec
edm aerotec GmbH develops and produces ultralight helicopters with coaxial rotor systems in Geisleden, Thuringia. The company was founded in 2011 and delivers its aircraft fully assembled (ready-to-fly). Current production models are the CoAX 600 with ULPower UL390iS engine (160 hp) and a maximum take-off weight of 600 kg, as well as the CoAX 2D with D-Motor LF39 (135 hp). The fuselage structure consists of fibre-reinforced plastic (composites), as do the two two-bladed main rotors with a rotor diameter of 6.50 m each. In research and development, the unmanned aerial system CoAX 600 UAS was created together with the Technical University of Munich; it received a Permit-to-Fly from the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (German Federal Aviation Office) via the SORA process and was successfully tested at Magdeburg-Cochstedt airfield. The CoAX 600 is the first ultralight helicopter certified in Germany in the new 600-kilogram class. In addition to manufacturing and complete delivery, the company offers maintenance, repair and customer service.
