About eFarm
eFarming GmbH & Co. KG operates the eFarm joint project in North Frisia (Schleswig-Holstein), which was initiated by GP JOULE and is being implemented together with citizen-owned wind and solar parks, companies and municipal utilities. At five production sites (Bosbüll, Reußenköge, Dörpum, Langenhorn and the headquarters in Reußenköge), green hydrogen with a total capacity of 1,125 MW is produced by electrolysis from wind and solar power, in the immediate vicinity of existing wind farms. The hydrogen is transported in mobile storage containers by truck to the two hydrogen refuelling stations in Husum and Niebüll, compressed further there and dispensed to fuel cell buses, trucks and cars. The waste heat from the electrolysis process is used for heat supply. The project was funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure with around eight million euros under the National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology. The legal form is a GmbH & Co. KG (limited partnership) headquartered in Reußenköge.
