About Efinix
Efinix is a privately held semiconductor company founded in 2012 by Sammy Cheung and Tony Ngai, headquartered in Cupertino, California. The company develops programmable logic solutions based on the patented Quantum architecture, whose XLR cells (eXchangeable Logic and Routing) serve as either logic or routing resources depending on configuration. This yields the FPGA families Titanium (high performance, 35K to 1M logic elements), Topaz (high volume) and Trion (compact, low-power edge and IoT solutions) as well as preconfigured RISC-V SoCs. The Quantum technology is also made available via the Reconfigurable Acceleration Platform (RAP) as a Known-Good-Die, SIP or licensable core for custom ASIC/ASSP designs. Manufacturing follows a fabless model at foundry partners such as TSMC (16 nm, 5 nm) and SMIC (40 nm); in addition, Efinix provides the free Efinity IDE covering the entire design flow. Target markets are edge AI and vision systems, industrial automation, automotive, consumer electronics, communications infrastructure and data centers. In addition to its headquarters in Cupertino, Efinix maintains offices in Toronto, Unterschleißheim (Efinix GmbH), Tokyo, Hong Kong and Penang (Malaysia).

Technology & Architecture
Quantum architecture (XLR cells)
Patented FPGA fabric whose XLR cells can be flexibly configured as either logic or routing, enabling 2x–4x area savings and roughly halved power consumption compared with traditional FPGA architectures.
Quantum Compute Fabric (2nd generation)
Enhanced XLR cells with embedded RAM and DSP blocks for computing and acceleration applications in the 16-nm process.
RISC-V SoC designs
Preconfigured SoCs with RISC-V cores (VexRiscv) for embedded computing performance from T8 to T120.
eFPGA licensing (Quantum)
Quantum cores as licensable IP, Known Good Die or SIP for custom ASIC and ASSP designs.
