About Eichenberger Gewinde AG
Since 1953, Eichenberger Gewinde AG has been developing and manufacturing screw drives for linear drive technology, including ball screws (recirculating ball screws) and lead screw drives (trapezoidal, round and micro-thread screws). The screws are produced by the cold rolling process, induction hardened in-house, and machined to application-specific specifications in final chip-forming end machining; the offering also includes special nut shapes as well as nuts integrated into components and made from injection-molded technopolymer. The company manufactures its own special tools, which enables short time-to-market for customized solutions. Customer industries include automation, medical technology, automotive engineering, machinery and apparatus manufacturing, electrical engineering, and aerospace. The company, with around 250 employees, produces at its sites in Burg (AG) and Sempach Station (Switzerland) and has been part of the Festo Group since 2025. The automotive subsidiary Eichenberger Motion AG holds its own ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.

Materials and Processes
Thread rolling (cold rolling process)
Cold work-hardening forming process for screws made of steel, stainless steel and aluminum with high pitch accuracy.
Recirculating ball screws (ball screws)
Based on the rolling bearing principle, ø 4–40 mm, for high loads and efficiency.
Trapezoidal thread screws (lead screw drives)
ø 4–36 mm made of steel or cold-formable aluminum for high travel speeds.
Round thread screws
ø 6–16 mm made of steel for robust applications.
Micro-thread screws
ø 20 mm made of steel for simple feed tasks.
Induction Hardening
In-house hardening of the rolled thread screws made of steel to ensure pitch accuracy.
Chip-forming end machining
Cross holes, keyways, undercuts, key seats, driving surfaces and knurling at the screw ends.
Steel (hardened)
Standard material for thread screws.
Corrosion-resistant steel (inox)
For corrosion-exposed applications such as offshore sonar systems.
Cold-formable aluminum
For lightweight trapezoidal thread screws.
Technopolymer
Injection-molded nuts, also available as a high-temperature variant and as a ball deflector.
