About EKW Refractories
EKW GmbH, originally Eisenberger Klebsandwerke, was founded in 1903 and has remained family-owned ever since. The company produces a comprehensive portfolio of refractory materials: refractory castables (including self-flowing and cement-free generations), neutral, basic and acidic semi-plastic masses, dry vibromasses as well as materials for repair and shotcreting work. In addition, refractory precast parts such as cover cores, dams and weirs, sleeves, changeover outlets, pouring nozzles and refractory bricks are manufactured. The basis of many products is the natural Klebsand from the company's own pit in the Eisenberg Basin, a local geological specialty with high mechanical strength up to about 1,700 °C. Alongside production, EKW offers system solutions for the functional lining of melting and heat treatment furnaces, refractory management, engineering, maintenance, installation and research & development. Customers come from iron foundries, steel foundries, pig iron and steel production, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, cement, lime, environment, energy and chemicals. Around 150 employees work at the Eisenberg/Pfalz site; through subsidiaries in seven countries, the company supplies customers worldwide.
