About elspec
el-spec GmbH is a family business founded in 1982, headquartered in Geretsried-Gelting near Munich, specializing in high-frequency technology. The company develops and produces RF coaxial cables (Semi-Rigid, Conformable, Handformable, Flexible, Low Loss), cryogenic coaxial cables, and RF connectors, and manufactures custom-tailored cable assemblies in its own production – Assemblies Made in Bavaria. Materials include silver-plated copper (CuAg), PTFE and expanded PTFE as dielectric, FEP as jacket material, stainless steel and NbTi for cryogenic semi-rigid cables, as well as nickel-free, non-magnetic materials for antimagnetic assemblies. Frequencies up to 110 GHz are covered; the antimagnetic 2.92 mm cable assemblies (SRF087-NM) up to 38 GHz exhibit a remanent magnetization below 10 nT. An in-house laboratory on the DESY campus serves for qualification, including phase stability under movement, temperature and humidity effects, as well as magnet measurements. Customers come from aerospace, quantum technology, medical technology (MRI), telecommunications (5G/6G), radar and military technology, as well as research institutions such as CERN and DESY. The team comprises around 18 people with flat hierarchies.

Materials & Processes
Silver-plated copper
Inner conductors and braids of RF coaxial cables for low attenuation.
PTFE / expanded PTFE
Dielectric of coaxial cables with tightly toleranced characteristic impedance.
FEP
Jacket material of RF cables, low-outgassing for vacuum and cryogenic applications.
Stainless steel
Outer and inner conductors of cryogenic semi-rigid cables as well as N connectors.
Niob-titanium
Conductor material of cryogenic semi-rigid cables (EZ-86-NBTI) for minimal heat input.
Aluminum polyester foil
Shield layers in RF cables for high shielding effectiveness (> 90 dB).
Nickel-free / non-magnetic materials
For antimagnetic cable assemblies with remanent magnetization < 10 nT.
Flexible cryogenic coaxial cables
Non-magnetic cable solutions (MK5005, MK5001, Stormflex047NM) down to the millikelvin range.
