Elektro-Anlagenbau GmbH Rügen, based in Bergen auf Rügen, is an electrical systems construction company whose core competence lies in the installation of electrical systems. Its range of services covers electrical installations for commercial, industrial and public buildings – from route construction and installation systems, cable pulling and lighting systems to passive data networks, switchgear cabinet assembly, distribution board construction and earthing systems. For more than 30 years, the company has also been implementing building automation based on KNX systems with control, visualisation and remote maintenance. In the field of line construction and power supply, EAB Rügen builds feed-in systems, transformer stations and outdoor lighting systems, maintains 400-V networks as well as medium-voltage networks up to 20 kV, and offers photovoltaics and charging technology. The portfolio is complemented by in-house CAD execution planning (DDScad, AutoCAD) as well as maintenance, repair and expansion services for existing systems. Reference projects range from Mukran Ferry Port and the University of Greifswald to the Ozeaneum Stralsund and the Prora Treetop Walkway.

Company History

1. 1897/98

   Emergence of the first power station and the first town lighting system in Bergen auf Rügen.

2. 1951

   Founding of the VEB Elektro- und Wasserinstallation Bergen auf Rügen on 01.09.1951; the Sassnitz operation followed in 1953.

3. 1965

   Merger of the electrical departments to form VEB Elektro-Anlagenbau Sassnitz; installation company for electrotechnical systems up to 20 kV with temporarily more than 400 employees.

4. 1965–1989

   Production of electric traction magnets as a supplier to GDR mechanical engineering as well as consumer goods production (wall, floor and ceiling lights).

5. 1975

   Foundation stone laid for the present site at Industriestraße 22 in Bergen (13.10.1975).

6. 1989/90

   Conversion into the legal form of a GmbH, purchase by employees from the Treuhand; renaming to Elektro-Anlagenbau GmbH Rügen.
