About us
Elektro Rühl GmbH is a family business founded in 1953, now run by the third generation, headquartered in Lohra-Kirchvers (Hesse). The company implements electrical installations and customised building technology system solutions for private customers, commerce and industry, including large supra-regional installation projects in the Giessen, Marburg and Wetzlar region. The service areas include electrical installation, data and network technology, security technology and smart building technology as well as barrier-free electrical installations. As a registered master trade company, the firm offers the E-CHECK for testing electrical installations and devices as well as energy-saving consultancy. Until the split in 2013, solar technology (solar thermal, photovoltaics) was also part of the business and has since been handled by the separately managed Rühl Solar GmbH. An office branch exists in Heuchelheim near Giessen.

Company History

Walter Rühl founds Elektro Rühl in May with a workshop in his parents' house and a showroom for electrical appliances.
- 1960
Construction of the residential and commercial building at Bornweg 7 (today's company headquarters).
- 1970
Entry in the commercial register and start of apprentice training.
- 1980
Branch for consumer electronics in Krofdorf.

Opening of the specialist store 'Rühl-Elektro' in Lollar.

Restructuring and specialisation in data, network and security technology.

Handover to the sons Georg, Wilfried and Helmut Rühl and conversion into a GmbH.
