Elektro- u. Schaltanlagenbau Winter Ges.m.b.H. (EWI Winter) is an electrical company founded in 1956 and based in Knittelfeld in Styria. With 60 employees, the company is one of the larger electrical trade businesses in Styria. Its business activities include electrical installation, switchgear and distribution board manufacturing, and environmental technology with automation of plant processes via PLC. In switchgear manufacturing, EWI Winter plans and produces hundreds of different switchgear assemblies each year, including main distribution boards, sub-distribution boards, utility distribution boards, standard meter and special metering distribution boards, row and floor-standing cabinet systems, HVAC and outdoor distribution boards, data transmission cabinets and construction site power distribution boards. The enclosures and claddings are made from steel, stainless steel (Nirosta) and aluminium and powder-coated in-house. Customers include all utility companies in Austria as well as facilities from water and wastewater management, education, healthcare, leisure and industry.
