Who we are
ELESTA GmbH, based in Bad Ragaz (Switzerland), develops and manufactures relays with forcibly guided contacts according to IEC 61810-3 as well as custom sensor products and electromechanical components for industrial automation. The relay series SID3, SID4, SIS 2, SIS 2 SEN, SIS 3, SIS 3 SEN and SIS 4 cover switching currents from 3 mA to 16 A and are used as the centrepiece in functional safety applications, for example in railway technology, medical technology, robotics and machine tools. Manufacturing includes SMD assembly, press-fit technology (ELO pins) and PCB assembly; AgCuNi with a 0.2–0.4 µm gold plating is used as contact material. Within the Pilz Group, ELESTA is also responsible for the development of proximity switches, safety gate systems and optoelectronic systems (PSENopt II, PSEN, PIT). All products are developed and manufactured at the Bad Ragaz site, which was occupied in 2008 and employs more than 350 people. Thanks to lean production, small series and special solutions with short delivery times are also possible.

Quality Management
Since 2008, ELESTA has been certified to ISO 9001; quality management is based on a three-stage Q control loop according to PDCA (Deming), shop floor management with Pareto tables and regular internal as well as external audits. The products are TÜV and UL/cUL approved, and the entire supply chain is integrated into the quality processes.
