About ELKA

ELKA Schleif- und Poliermittel GmbH manufactures elastically bonded grinding and polishing tools for metal and glass processing at its site in Wiedergeltingen in Unterallgäu. The grinding bodies made of corundum and silicon carbide grains are produced in proprietary bond systems based on polyurethane or epoxy resin, manufactured in the product groups Comfort/Contact, Hybrid, Precision (Cut) as well as the ELKA-Vitro glass polishing wheels. Custom formulations are developed in the company's own laboratory, preliminary trials are carried out and process chains are developed together with customers up to series production. Applications range from stock removal and fine grinding, polishing, deburring, cleaning and structuring of metals to pre-polishing and high-gloss polishing of glass; with Precision Cut, surface values of Rz < 0.5 µm are achieved. Customers come among others from mechanical engineering, automotive, aviation, medical technology, electrical engineering and the glass industry. Products are shipped worldwide via distribution partners; the company has been certified to DIN ISO 9001 since 1998 and has been a recognized training company since 2006.
